The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) is the principal official agency responsible for the collection, compilation, and dissemination of statistical data related to the economy, society, and demographics of Pakistan. It plays a crucial role in policymaking, planning, and research.

PBS invites applications from experienced and highly qualified professionals for the following Management Scale (MP-I) positions.

Available Positions

1. Member (Resource Management)

  • Job Title: Member – Resource Management
  • Pay Scale: Management Position-I (MP-I)
  • Qualification:
    • Advanced university degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Economics, Public Policy, or related disciplines from a recognized university.
  • Experience:
    • At least 15 years of experience with 5 years in senior management roles.
    • Expertise in HR planning, budgeting, auditing, organizational development, and capacity building.
  • Skills: Knowledge of government systems, data management, public policy formulation, and institutional development.

2. Member (Economic Statistics)

  • Job Title: Member – Economic Statistics
  • Pay Scale: Management Position-I (MP-I)
  • Qualification:
    • Advanced university degree in Economics or related field from a recognized university.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 15 years of experience with 5 years at senior management level.
    • In-depth understanding of macroeconomic indicators, global economic issues, statistical modeling, and analytical techniques.
  • Skills: Use of international standards in economic data, data mining, and development indicators.

3. Member (National Accounts)

  • Job Title: Member – National Accounts
  • Pay Scale: Management Position-I (MP-I)
  • Qualification:
    • Advanced university degree in Economics, Finance, or Accounting.
  • Experience:
    • 15+ years including 5 years in senior roles.
    • Specialized experience in compiling GDP, national income, and other macroeconomic indicators.
  • Skills: Econometric modeling, familiarity with international accounting standards, and government systems.

4. Member (Census and Surveys)

  • Job Title: Member – Census and Surveys
  • Pay Scale: Management Position-I (MP-I)
  • Qualification:
    • Advanced degree in Statistics, Demography, Sociology, or Survey Techniques.
  • Experience:
    • At least 15 years with experience in national censuses, data processing, survey design, and sampling techniques.
  • Skills: Use of statistical tools, training design, data validation, and analysis.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Minimum of 15 years professional experience.
  • At least 5 years in senior management or leadership positions.
  • Degrees must be from HEC-recognized local or international institutions.
  • Strong command of statistical, economic, and public management tools.
