National Insurance Company Limited (NICL), a leading public sector general insurance company owned by the Government of Pakistan, invites applications for the position of Chief Medical Officer (CMO) on a retainer-ship basis for its Central Zonal Office located in Lahore.

Position Details:

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • MBBS degree from a PMDC-recognized institution (attested copy required with application)
  • FCPS qualification will be preferred
  • Minimum five (05) years of experience, including a house job in general medicine
  • Preference will be given to candidates with three (03) years of experience in tertiary healthcare
  • Must possess a valid license from PMDC

Terms & Conditions of Appointment:

  • Appointment will be on a purely retainership basis
  • Residence in Lahore is mandatory to ensure 24/7 availability for emergency medical situations
  • This is not a permanent or contract-based position and does not affect payroll
  • Either party may terminate the appointment by giving one month’s notice or paying one month’s retainer in lieu

Duties and Functions:

The CMO will work 3 to 5 hours daily (between 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM) on all working days at NICL Lahore office and perform the following functions:

  • Attend emergency cases whenever required
  • Examine employees and refer them to specialists or hospitals as needed
  • Visit hospitals where NICL employees or dependents are admitted
  • Scrutinize and approve medical bills from hospitals, chemists, and laboratories
  • Conduct medical evaluations of newly recruited employees
  • Examine chronic disease cases
  • Administer medical facilities and monitor expenses
  • Recommend improvements in employee healthcare and preventive measures
  • Perform additional related duties as advised
  • Remain available on-call or via telephonic support outside office hours for emergencies
