Position Summary:

IESCO is seeking a dynamic and qualified professional to lead the Market Implementation & Regulatory Affairs Department (MIRAD). The Director General (MIRAD) will report directly to the CEO and the Board of Directors and will be responsible for directing and managing regulatory compliance, market operations, demand forecasting, transmission planning, and settlement processes.

This role will serve as the interface between IESCO and the Competitive Trading Bilateral Contract Market (CTBCM).

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the development of a competitive electricity market in line with regulatory requirements.
Manage contracts, demand forecasts, and transmission planning.
Engage with the CEO and Board of Directors on senior-level decisions.
Build and lead a high-performing team for regulatory and market affairs.
Ensure compliance with legal, technical, and commercial standards of the power sector.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

Candidate must have either:
Option 1:

A Bachelor’s degree (16 years) or equivalent in Engineering / Finance / Accounting / Law / Management Sciences from a university recognized by HEC.
A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
Minimum 15 years of total experience, including 10 years in the power sector with strong knowledge of regulatory affairs, commercial, and legal/contractual matters.

Option 2:

15 years of total experience, including 10 years in the power sector, and extensive knowledge of utility businesses and regulatory frameworks.
Strong knowledge in technical, financial, and legal aspects of the electricity market is essential.

Salary Package, Tenure & Age Limit:

Salary: Market-based competitive salary package.
Tenure: Initial contract for 3 years, extendable upon satisfactory performance. First performance review after 6 months.
Age Limit: Maximum 60 years on the last date of application submission.
