Job Description:

The Assistant Librarian will play a crucial role in the management and operations of the university library. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the daily operations of the library, including cataloging, circulation, and reference services.
  • Managing and maintaining the library’s collection of print and digital resources.
  • Providing support to students, faculty, and staff in accessing information and conducting research.
  • Working with the digital library and HEC databases to ensure seamless access to resources.
  • Utilizing and managing library software, with a special focus on Koha and Space.

Requirements and Eligibility:

  • Qualification: Master’s in Library and Information Sciences (MLIS) from an HEC-recognized university.
  • Experience: A minimum of 6 years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Skills:
    • Knowledge of computer systems and library software is essential.
    • Strong understanding of digital library platforms and HEC databases.
    • Specific knowledge of Koha and Space software will be a significant advantage.
