The Government of Balochistan’s Women Development Department is seeking a highly qualified and experienced professional for the position of Balochistan Woman Ombudsperson for Protection Against Harassment of Women at Workplace. This is a critical role that requires a strong legal background and a commitment to upholding the rights and safety of women in the workplace. The position is being re-advertised in accordance with an amended Act, with eligibility restricted to female candidates only.

Job Description and Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the office of the Ombudsperson. This includes:

  • Receiving and investigating complaints related to harassment of women at the workplace.
  • Conducting inquiries and holding hearings to address grievances.
  • Issuing binding decisions and recommendations to ensure a safe and secure working environment for women.
  • Creating awareness about the Protection Against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act.
  • Collaborating with government departments, organizations, and civil society to implement effective anti-harassment policies.
  • Preparing and submitting periodic reports to the relevant authorities.

This position is of immense importance, as it plays a key role in safeguarding the fundamental rights of working women and promoting gender equality in the province. The Ombudsperson acts as an independent and impartial authority, ensuring that all complaints are handled with due diligence and confidentiality.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Gender: The candidate must be female.
  • Age: Must be at least 45 years of age.
  • Domicile: Must be a local or domicile holder of Balochistan Province.
  • Qualification and Experience: The candidate must meet one of the following criteria:
    • Has been or is qualified to be a Judge of a High Court.
    • Is or has been in the service of Pakistan in BPS-20 or above, possesses an LLB degree, and has at least 10 years of experience in the field of Law.
