Overview:

Pakistan Railways is seeking a skilled and technically proficient Computer Operator to support data management and administrative functions under the major development project for railway connectivity with Afghanistan (Kohat to Kharlachi via Thall-Parachinar). This role involves data entry, system support, report generation, and general IT support under the guidance of senior project officers.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Educational Qualification:
    • Intermediate or higher education with a 1-year Computer Diploma from a recognized institute.
  • Experience Requirements:
    • At least 3 years of relevant experience in data handling, office automation, and IT systems.
    • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), basic hardware troubleshooting, and official correspondence.
  • Preferred Skills:
    • Typing speed of at least 40 wpm in English and 30 wpm in Urdu.
    • Familiarity with official recordkeeping, reporting formats, and digital data organization.
  • Age Limit:
    • Maximum age: 30 years
    • A general age relaxation of 5 years is applicable under government policy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and manage digital records of project-related documents.
  • Perform data entry, editing, and compilation of field reports and surveys.
  • Prepare formal letters, spreadsheets, and summaries for administrative use.
  • Assist engineers and administrative staff with documentation and file management.
  • Provide basic IT support within the project team, including printing, scanning, and emailing tasks.
